| Due to the lack of X-On/X-Off flow control support in a chip (IC) used to manufacture IO Print Servers please be aware X-on/X-off support is not supported in all I-O PrintServers. The following breakdown should be noted.
Print Servers with a firmware version of 1.xx, 2.xx or 4.xx will and do support X-on/X-off flow control. Additionally, Print Servers with 4.xx firmware must have 4.62 firmware to support X-on/X-off. Print Servers with a firmware version of 3.xx do not and will not support X-on/X-off flow control. If you are experiencing data overrun, change the printers flow control to DTR. Also be aware that due to platform differences Print Servers can only be upgraded or downgraded with firmware versions sharing the same common tens digit value. For instance 3.xx boxes cannot be upgraded or downgraded with 1.xx, 2.xx or 4.xx firmware. 3.xx boxes can be upgraded or downgraded only with other 3.xx firmware. |
