Article #351 - My IPDS Printer writer will not start.
Updated:02-27-2006 - Views: 499
A customer with three different I-O IPDS PrintServers, printing to four different Lexmark printers, with all four printers configured as both SCS (3812 non-IPDS) devices and IPDS devices on the AS/400 found all four SCS printers continued to print normally, but all four writers for the IPDS devices would not start. This setup had worked fine for a full year and the customer was claiming there were no changes to the LAN or the AS/400.

It turns out someone had deleted the PSFOBJ used and shared with all four IPDS printers. Recreating the IPDS PSFOBJ immediately solved the problem.
