Article #364 - Upgrading OS on the iSeries - AS/400 creates printing problems
Updated:03-20-2006 - Views: 414
A customer driving printers using Telnet on the 400 recently upgraded to V5R3. After the upgrade all Telnet attached printers no longer worked. There was no output from any printer attached via I-O 54xx products using Telnet.

The customer deleted the 3812 autoconfigured printer on the AS/400 and let the 54xx re-autoconfig. Once this was done, all printing resumed and output was as expected.

Please realize the I-O 54xx does not know if we are talking to an AS/400 with V4R5, V3R2, V5R3 or any other VxRy.
